How much trouble could someone get in for caller ID spoofing?
I reported it to my phone company and to the local police department.
Actually I read it is illegal, and I felt threatened.
spoofing caller ID is NOT illegal.. there are plenty of businesses that offer these services..
EDIT: HR 1258 or the “truth in caller ID act” only makes knowingly spoofing your caller ID illegal IF you “knowingly transmit misleading or inaccurate caller ID information with the intent to defraud, cause harm, or wrongfully obtain anything of value.”
